An Unselfish Act of Love

I write this blog today to ask for some prayers for a good friend of mine and her daughter. Out of respect for their privacy, I will not reveal their names, so please just ask God to be with and bless “Ruth’s friends” when you have a moment.

About a year ago, my friend’s daughter gave birth to a set of beautiful twin girls. However, because the daughter was so very young, it was decided early in the pregnancy that placing them for adoption was the best option for these babies. My friend comes from a very loving and caring Christian home and she raised her children the same.  They searched for and found, a young Christian couple to adopt the girls at birth. They met with and interacted with the parents-to-be before the birth so they could all get to know each other. The girls were born, and a few days later the parents took them home with them to love and raise as their own. Over the past year, my friend and her daughter have been in contact with the parents and have received updates on the baby girls.

I was told by my friend that she and her daughter made a “last visit” with the baby girls this weekend. My heart is breaking for my friend and her daughter…I cannot even begin to imagine how they must feel!  But I know they are a strong duo and they have the unending love and support of their remarkable extended family to help get them through this. I know without a doubt that they love those baby girls with all they have in them, and they always will.  I also know that with time and prayers, healing will take place.

So, when you say your prayers tonight, please ask God to be with “Ruth’s friends”…ask Him for strength and guidance for both of these women. Ask Him to allow the daughter to eventually find the man He created for her, and allow them to raise a family together. Finally, ask Him to bless each and every one of the lives touched by this adoption, and to let those two precious little girls grow up knowing that they are loved by so many people...some they may never know,

Thank you for reading this and thank you in advance for your prayers.
